Application Steps

All transfer students must apply to the Academy using our institutional application. Start by clicking the button below to create an account. Once completed, you can start a new application right from your portal!

Complete the online application and email Al Seitz (aseitz@maritime.edu) for an application fee waiver code to be able to submit your application.

• Upload your personal essay

  • We will accept an essay on any subject of your choice. Still unsure? Write 300 words discussing the most important reasons for selecting Mass Maritime as a possible college for you.

• Send one letter of recommendation - Recommendations can come from any source who is not a relative (i.e. coaches, employers, teachers, guidance counselors, etc.)

• Request official high school transcript (required for students who have not completed an associate’s or bachelor’s degree and must include graduation date)

• Request official college transcript(s)

  • Students are encouraged to submit their Joint Service Transcript or Community College of the Air Force Transcript.

• Any applicant not entering the Academy directly out of high school, including military veterans, must meet the aforementioned criteria.  Student must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher and must have the following coursework within their transfer credit records to be considered for admission:   
  • ​​​​​​​College-level English,    
  • College Algebra or Higher
  • Chemistry I with a lab
  • Elective (Humanities/Social Sciences)

• Complete our Good Standing Form from all colleges/universities attended

• Submit official SAT/ACT scores (Applicants for Spring 2024 or Fall 2024 transferring less than 3 years post high school graduation may apply under our Test Optional Policy)
