VIRTUAL GALA FAQs
Are the sponsorships the only levels that people can give at? No, we will have three other set giving levels ($1000, $500 and $250) as well as a "custom" field where you can fill in whatever gift amount you prefer. These will be open when the event goes live.
Do we know that the words "at the door”? are sprinkled throughout the gala messaging? Yes, but that is not something that we can change. We have reached out to the software vendor. They are working on making that something that customers can change but they are not there yet.
Can someone make a gift beforehand and still be counted on the night of? Absolutely! If you wish to make an online gift ahead of time go to www.maritime.edu/give. Or you can send a check to the MMA Foundation, 101 Academy Drive, Buzzards Bay, MA 02532. Either way it will be counted on the Gala website the night of the event.
Do I have to select a sponsorship during the Gala or can I do that ahead of time? Either one, it’s entirely up to you!
What is GivingTuesday? GivingTuesday is a global movement focused on people supporting organizations that they are passionate about. It started in 2012 and happens on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving each year as a way for people to give and celebrate nonprofits. At MMA we have participated in GivingTuesday for the last 7 years. Find out more about MMA’s GivingTuesday here.
How do I participate the night of the event? Make sure you are registered ahead of time, grab your food and beverage of choice, get comfortable and go to event.gives/mmavirtualgala Then, sit back, relax, participate, and watch the Gala.
What is the Dress Code? Since you will be in your own home it is up to you. You can wear your jammies to keep it comfortable, formal attire if you miss your nights out, or your old uniform for old time sake. We don't care but make sure to register, log in, and tag us in your photos! #MMAVirtualGala
