Massachusetts Maritime Academy Admiral Francis McDonald announced on May 7 that the Taylors Point campus in Buzzards Bay will be back in business come September. Below is the transcript from recent social media posts, and a link to a recent article.
Hey, Massachusetts Maritime Academy Class of 2024…your shipmate, Rear Admiral Fran McDonald here. First and foremost, just checking in to make sure that you and your families are safely out of harm’s way, and second to let you know that you should be very, very proud of all that you have accomplished. Being able to make changes based on the winds will serve you well, at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, and in life. And we’re very proud too, very proud of the work that our cadets and our faculty and our staff have done, and very proud of our ability to deliver on our educational formula.
That being, 100% Bachelor of Science degrees, an unwavering commitment to experiential learning, and the unmatched leadership laboratory…our regiment of cadets. And like any mariner worth their salt, we’re proud of our ability to do contingency planning.
And with that in mind I want to announce to you today, that come this fall, Massachusetts Maritime Academy will be open for business. Yes, with contingency plans in place, but make NO mistake about it, open for business and ready to deliver on the promise of our educational formula.
And, as you join us, you should know that you will be taking the first steps to becoming part of something very special. See you in the fall…and GO BUCS!
