Sealed Bid Sale
Massachusetts Maritime Academy is qualified by the Internal Revenue Service as a charitable organization. As such, the Academy is prepared to accept the donation of various marine-related assets, especially boats and trailers, allowing the donor a potential tax deduction. These assets are eventually made available to the public for purchase, primarily via the Academy’s annual Sealed Bid Sale.
In light of the current pandemic, the following information is subject to change:
Our 2020 Sealed Bid Sale has not been rescheduled. Once we do set a date and times for the Sale, those will be the only hours during which the public is granted access to the Academy’s boat storage facility to view available vessels and other marine-related items up for bid. Sealed bids can be submitted at the facility during these hours and via email until 10:00 a.m. the following Monday. The bid sheet for making an offer on an available item can be accessed below. The list of items available to be bid on is not published until the first day of the Sealed Bid Sale and will be available on this page for the duration of the Sealed Bid Sale.
Information with details for attending a Sealed Bid Sale is made available to the general public in newspaper and radio advertisements, on this webpage, and via email to subscribers. Please complete and submit the form located on our “Contact Us” webpage with your request in the comments to be added to that email distribution list.
Further details will be added to this webpage as the date of the Sealed Bid Sale draws closer. Please check back for more information.
