BLOCK ISLAND FERRY - USCG Licensed Mate and deckhands (Unlicensed)

The Block Island Ferry has several seasonal (summer) Mate positions as well as summer deckhand positions available.

USCG Licensed Mates - Supervise the deck operations of USCG certificated passenger/vehicle ferry vessels. This includes the loading/unloading of ferry and its passengers and cargo, while maintaining passenger safety. Navigational and lookout duties are also required, as well as supervision of the deck crew. USCG license as Master of 100 GRT Inland and TWIC are required.

Deckhands are responsible for passenger safety, loading and unloading of passenger/vehicle ferry vessels, and general cleaning assignments. Summer seasonal positions are available on the high-speed passenger only ferry as well as the traditional passenger/vehicle/freight ferry vessels.

These are safety sensitive marine transportation positions. USCG/DOT pre-employment drug screening is required.
